Types of information we collect and how we use that information

When you become a member of The Dog Cancer Tribe (“Membership”) or a Subscriber to any related mailing list, we will collect certain personal information related to your Membership or Subscription. Such information may include, but will not be limited to, your name, email and other contact and related information to facilitate your Membership and/or Subscription. We may use this email and other contact information from time-to-time to contact you about the website and other matters related to dog cancer care.

Distinction between free Membership/Subscriber information and optional products available for purchase

In addition to the information and resources you have access to as a Member and/or Subscriber, we may, from time to time and in various forms, offer information (books, etc.) and products for sale on our websites.

Also note that: with respect to any information or product made available for sale on this Website, if you choose to purchase such information or products you will be sent to an independent third party payment processor to complete your purchase order. We currently use two separate services for this third party payment processing – PayPal (www.PayPal.com) and 2checkout (www.2checkout.com). Each of those payment processing companies is owned and operated completely independent from this Website, and each transacts millions of dollars of business each year on behalf of thousands of vendors on their own independent secure servers. Those companies, as applicable, will be the sole entities to collect personal financial (credit card, etc.) and related information from you in connection with your sales transactions. In accordance with their policies, they do not share any of your personal financial information with us, except the fact that you purchased some information or products from us, the amount you paid for your purchase, and related contact email and address information needed to help us complete delivery of the information and/or products to you.

And while we have every reason to believe that these independent third party payment processors have very effective privacy protections in place to ensure the confidentiality of your information, we cannot be responsible for their actions or security measures. If you are not comfortable using those services, then we encourage you NOT to order our products, or to contact us for alternative methods (such as payment by check) to complete your desired purchase. Of course, in connection with any payment by check, we will receive whatever information you provide to us through your check (and any additional information you send us to help us complete delivery of the items purchased), and while we may record this information for our business bookkeeping and records, we will not sell, rent, share, or otherwise use such information for any other purpose.

Security Procedures to Protect Against Loss, Misuse or Alteration of Information Under Our Control

All of your registration form information is collected and stored by our automated email servicing company (Aweber) and, with copies retained by us on file through the automated website management tools.

Our email servicing company, Aweber, is a highly respected company that services millions of mailing list subscribers for thousands of companies on the internet. And while we have every reason to believe that your contact information will be safe and securely held by Aweber, we cannot guarantee or be responsible for their actions or security measures. If you are not comfortable with their ability to protect your information, we encourage you NOT to register for our mailing list to ensure that your contact information remains safe.

Additionally, neither we, nor Aweber on our behalf, request or store sensitive information from our visitors, such as credit card numbers or social security numbers.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with other organizations.

How to modify or correct any inaccuracies in your information, or opt-out of future communications

While we hope that, as a Member and/or mailing list Subscriber, you will enjoy receiving these messages from us, if you ever decide that you no longer wish to receive messages from us, you can always cancel your Membership at any time and/or contact us directly by email or using this contact form to request removal from our mailing list or to change or update any of your personal information.

In addition, in compliance with the CAN-SPAM laws of the United States Government, our email server company (Aweber) always includes, at the bottom of every email sent to you, a link that will allow you to unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time.

Upon removal of your name from our mailing list, you will no longer receive any subsequent messages from us regarding Dog Cancer Care or any other matter

Internet protocol address

From time to time we may collect IP addresses from visitors to the Website. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet.
